Surprise Flat Roof Repair

Flat roof homes have particular requirements since they lack the ability to naturally shed water off with gravity. Utilizing a set of drains and a waterproof membrane, these homes mitigate water while protecting the property underneath. While it does not naturally shed water, flat roofs do still have a slight slope of 1/4 inch per foot of roof. There are four popular types of flat roof styles: polyurethane foam, built-up, modified bitumen, and single ply. Mikku & Sons Roofing closely works with clients to satisfy their Surprise flat roof repair needs.

Surprise Foam Roof Repair

Polyurethane foam has become a popular and unique method of covering flat roof buildings. Polyurethane is applied directly to a roof, after which it foams up and becomes solid. It is highly flexible and popular among homeowners with oddly shaped roofs, and is heat resistant, making it a prime candidate for a Surprise home. Because of how the foam is applied, all crevices are sealed and prevent water from leaking inside. Although durable, foam roofs do still need repairs every so often, which is why you have Mikku & Sons Roofing. Whether you need a full install or just an install, be confident in our 19 years of history helping clients with their Surprise foam roof repair needs.

Surprise Tile Roof Repair

Having become more and more popular among Arizona homeowners, tile roofing provides visual appeal alongside practicality. These tiles, made of clay or concrete, are energy efficient and help to protect from intense heat and high winds and come in a number of styles and colors. While tile roofing does require less maintenance than other types of roofing, we still must face repairs every once in a while. Mikku & Sons Roofing has proudly helped our clients with their Surprise tile roof repair needs.

Types of Roof Repair

Tile Roof Repair

Concrete and clay tiles are very durable and increasingly more popular roof materials. Due to the many architectural and color choices, tile roofing is energy efficient and durable in hot and high wind climates. While tile roofing does require less maintenance than other types of roofing, we still must ace repairs every once in a while.

Flat Roof Repair

Flat roof homes need particular requirements to be met in order to keep drains and the waterproof membrane accessible. These drains and membrane are necessary for mitigating water off the roof, and help to protect the property underneath it. Four common types of flat roofs include Polyurethane Foam, Built-up Roofs, Modified Bitumen, and Single Ply.

Shingle Roof Repair

Shingle roofing typically comes in one of two types: Asphalt shingles, are made of paper that’s been saturated with asphalt to make it waterproof, and are highly durable, usually carrying a class B or C fire rating. Fiberglass shingles are composed of a fiberglass sandwiched between layers of granule-embedded asphalt, and are highly durable, usually carrying a class A fire rating.

Foam Roof Repair

Polyurethane foam is an innovative and new way to cover flat roof buildings. The polyurethane is sprayed directly onto the roof, foams up, and turns solid. Foam is both heat resistant and highly flexible, making it useful for roofing featuring unusual shapes or angles.

Modified Bitumen

Modified bitumen is similar to built-up roofing, modified bitumen is made of reinforced asphalt felts. How it differs is that there are plastic or rubber polymers added to improve elasticity, durability and overall performance.

Built-Up Roofs

Also known as “hot tar roofing,” built-up roofs are made using overlapping layers of asphalt felts being fused together with hot asphalt.  To protect from the weather and other problems, it is usually covered by gravel, mineral granules, or a coat of smooth asphalt.

Single Ply

Usually made of rubber, plastic or a combination of both, single ply membranes are applied in a single layer onto a roof. These forms of roofs are popular for their ease of installation.
